Green Goblin is the only leader here, and everything else in the box is built to work under him. Doctor Octopus, Kraven the Hunter and Lizard all sit at the cheap end of the threat scale, which is the single most useful thing about this affiliation: a Spider-Foes squad can field more bodies than most villain lists and still afford one real threat.

That shapes how they win. You are not out-punching an Asgard or Black Order squad, you are covering more of the table than they can and scoring while they are still deciding where to commit. Extract crises, where the scoring is spread out and mobility matters, suit them far better than a single central brawl. The corresponding weakness is that individual characters here do not survive concentrated attention, so a squad that can pick one target and delete it every turn will grind you down.

Kraven and the Goblin also carry Criminal Syndicate tickets, so the box quietly supports a second villain direction. Check your shelf first, though: the Spider Foes Starter Set contains Green Goblin, Kraven and Lizard among its ten characters, so buying both leaves you with substantial duplication. This pack is the better choice only if you want the affiliation without the tools, dice and crisis cards.
