Pre-orders, done honestly.

New releases sell out, and most shops make you gamble: pay up front, hope your copy shows up, and eat a fee if you change your mind. We don't. Here is exactly how our pre-orders work.

How it works, start to finish

  • 1. You pre-order, or you join the list

If we already have stock assigned to a release, you can pre-order it outright at the listed price, the same as any other purchase. Once that allocation is spoken for, or if a release has not been allocated to us yet, the waitlist takes over. Joining the list is free and nothing is charged, because we are not going to hold your money for stock a publisher has not given us yet. Either way the manufacturer's expected release date is on the product page before you commit.

  • 2. We assign the allocation

When the manufacturer ships to us, orders already placed are filled first. We then work down the waitlist in the exact order people joined, assigning allocation until it runs out. No lottery, no queue-jumping, and no advantage to whoever happens to be online that morning.

  • 3. On the list? You get 24 hours

When your allocation is assigned we email you a checkout link and hold your allocation for 24 hours. This is the point where you pay the full amount, and not before. We send a reminder before the window closes, and only if it goes unclaimed does it pass to the next person in line.

  • 4. It ships

In-stock orders leave within one business day of the allocation arriving. Orders over $100 ship free.

The promise, in specifics

You always see the date. Every pre-order lists the manufacturer's expected release date, right on the product page. When a date moves, our page moves with it. No guessing.

The line is first come, first served. When a release is allocated to us short, we do not hand copies to whoever happens to be online at the right second. The waitlist fills in the exact order people joined it. You keep your place.

You get 24 hours to claim. The moment a copy is yours, we email you, send a reminder before the window closes, and hold it for 24 hours. Only if it goes unclaimed does it pass to the next person.

The price is the price. We don't quietly raise a pre-order's price because it got popular. The price you saw when you ordered, or when you joined the waitlist, is the price you pay.

Cancel anytime before it ships. Full refund to your original payment. No cancellation fee, no forced store credit.

Pre-order questions

When will my pre-order arrive?

Every pre-order page shows the manufacturer's expected release date. We ship as soon as our allocation lands, normally within a few days of that date. If the manufacturer moves the date, the product page moves with it.

What if you get fewer than were ordered?

Then the waitlist matters. It fills strictly in the order people joined. When your copy is ready we email you and hold it for 24 hours before it passes to the next person. No lottery, no queue-jumping.

Can I cancel a pre-order?

Yes, any time before it ships, for a full refund to your original payment method. No fee.

Will the price change before it releases?

No. We don't reprice pre-orders because demand went up. You pay what you reserved it at.

What if I order a pre-order and an in-stock item together?

We hold the order and ship it complete once the pre-order lands, so you pay one shipping charge and nothing gets stranded. If you would rather have the in-stock items straight away, order them separately, or if the order is already placed, use the split fulfilment request form below.

Most splits are $5, and we always confirm the exact amount with you before anything ships.

Need part of your order sooner?
