Ten characters and twelve miniatures put this among the widest single-box rosters in the game, and the two extra models are Sandman's Sand Constructs, which act as Grunts rather than as characters of their own. Green Goblin is the leader in the box, and the rest of the rogues gallery is built to play under him.

What Spider-Foes do is cover ground. Almost everyone here sits in the cheap to middling threat range, so a squad can afford five characters where a heavyweight faction fields three, and that extra body is usually the difference on a crisis that spreads objectives around the table. The corresponding weakness is that nothing in this box is genuinely tough. Concentrated attention removes any of them, so you win by being everywhere rather than by winning fights.

As an entry point it is complete, with crisis cards, dice, tools and tokens for one player. It also happens to be the cheapest route into Criminal Syndicate, since most of these villains hold a ticket for that affiliation too.

Check for overlap before buying, though. The Spider-Foes Affiliation Pack contains Green Goblin, Kraven and Lizard, and the four-villain Electro & Sandman & Shocker & Vulture pack duplicates another chunk of this roster.
