A monster hunter and a monster, and between them they cover the two things a Midnight Sons list usually lacks. Elsa Bloodstone is a leader option and a ranged threat, which matters because the supernatural side of the game skews heavily towards characters who must close the distance. Man-Thing is the counterweight: a slow, durable body whose value is in soaking attention and making your opponent regret going after the models around him. Both also qualify for the Defenders.

Elsa's leadership opens up the Legion of Monsters as a way to organise a squad, drawing on Marvel's classic creature roster rather than its capes. If that idea appeals, this is the box that starts it.

The limitation is pace. Man-Thing is not going to sprint across the board to grab a late objective, so pair him with something mobile and use him where the fight is going to happen rather than where it might. Newer players will find both models straightforward to run; the interesting decisions come at list-building time, not mid-turn.
