Marvel Crisis Protocol: S.H.I.E.L.D Affiliation Pack

Twelve Team Tactic Cards is the number that should catch your eye. That is an unusually large card pool for a four-model box, and it tells you what the affiliation is: S.H.I.E.L.D. plays as a coordinated unit whose strength lives in the cards rather than in any single character's stat line.

The squad itself is Nick Fury leading, Black Widow and Hawkeye providing precision, and a unit of agents acting as Grunts. Those agents matter more than their cost suggests. They give the list bodies to spread across a crisis, which frees the named characters to do the work they are good at instead of babysitting objectives.

What S.H.I.E.L.D. does not have is a heavyweight. Nothing here survives sustained attention from an Asgardian or a Sentinel, so the plan has to be to control the board and score rather than to win a straight fight in the middle of it. Players who want to charge into things will find the faction frustrating.

Widow and Hawkeye are also legal Avengers, so the box has value even if the spy game is not for you. Nick Fury, Sr. & Howling Commandos and the Quinjet Terrain Pack are the natural follow-ups.
