Moonstone: Echo of the Forgotten King

Kings do not always accept that their reign is over. The Echo of the Forgotten King is what is left when one refuses.

A Monster Box containing one large miniature in fine quality resin with stat card and base, multipart and assembled with superglue, which is not supplied. The faction is Shades of Moonreach and the keywords are Spirit, Elrich and Noble.

Elrich is the interesting one. It is not a keyword you see anywhere else in this range, and it marks the Echo out as something other than a standard Shades spirit. This is a centrepiece, bought for what it does to the shape of your troupe rather than to round out a theme.

The Shades boxes here give you plenty to pair it with. Never Ending Knights supplies three Risen, The Shady Bunch and Freaky Fugday each supply three Spirits, and Charge of the Fright Brigade gives you the six Psychopomps that Shades characters summon. A standard troupe is four characters, so any one of those trios plus the Echo is a complete force.

Buy this second, after a troupe box. Spirit models reward technique more than they reward fine detail work, so it is a good excuse to try translucent or glazed effects if you have been meaning to. Supplied unpainted and unassembled.
