Moonstone: Barnakelle

Part troll, part ghost, entirely committed to the pirate life. Barnakelle carries the Troll, Spirit and Pirate keywords and is legal in both Dominion and Shades of Moonreach troupes, which is a rare combination even by Moonstone's standards.

This is a Monster Box: one large multipart resin miniature with its stat card, not a three-model troupe set. That makes it a fourth-slot purchase rather than a starting point. A standard troupe is four characters, so Barnakelle is the model you buy once you already have a trio and know what your troupe is missing.

The obvious home is a Dominion pirate crew. Booty's Bilge gives you El Capitano, Crusty Balboa and Swiggarty Swooty, and Souls of the Deep brings Commodore Delahaye, Chezapeaky and Brigid, all three of whom are themselves legal for the Dominion and the Shades. Put Barnakelle with either and the whole troupe reads as one crew rather than a shopping list. Shades players can instead run the same model alongside the spirits of The Shady Bunch.

Large resin trolls are forgiving to paint and unforgiving to rush, and there is a lot of texture and weathering to enjoy here. Supplied unpainted and unassembled.
