This is the earlier printing of the Imperial Scout Trooper unit expansion, the one a great many Galactic Empire collections were built on. Seven hard plastic miniatures, two unit cards and five upgrade cards, packaged as it originally shipped.

It is worth being clear about who this suits. If you already run scouts and want a second squad, this gives you the models plus five upgrade cards, which is a slightly wider spread of options than you might expect from a box this size. If you are matching an army painted from earlier releases, keeping sculpts consistent across a collection is a real consideration and not a trivial one. And if you simply want Imperial recon on the table and do not care which printing it came from, these do exactly the same work.

On the battlefield, scouts are a positioning unit. They exist to reach ground your opponent did not think to defend and make it expensive to take back. They are not a replacement for a Corps unit parked on an objective, and a list built entirely from specialists will lose the scoring war while winning every firefight.

Pair them with:

  • Stormtroopers or Imperial Shoretroopers holding the line behind them
  • A 74-Z Speeder Bike for a fast, fully themed Endor force
  • The Empire Card Pack to bring an older Imperial collection onto current rules
