The Empire's reputation rests on massed troopers advancing in line. Scout Troopers are what it sends when that is the wrong answer. Seven models with two unit cards, they cover Special Forces and Support roles for a Galactic Empire army and reward players who study the board before they reach for the dice.

Their strength is reach and stealth: occupying positions nobody defended, applying pressure from an unhelpful angle, and forcing your opponent to react instead of execute. Their weakness is that they are not built to hold ground under sustained fire, so an army leaning on scouts alone will be pushed off objectives by cheaper units. Use them to shape the game while your line troopers do the holding.

Two unit cards mean the squad can take the field in more than one configuration, which makes this one of the more flexible boxes in the Imperial range.

  • Stormtroopers or Snowtroopers anchoring the objectives
  • Imperial Death Troopers as a second elite threat your opponent has to track
  • The Outer Rim Battles Terrain Pack, since a table with cover is where scouts earn their cost
