Clone commandos were never meant to fight battles. They were meant to end them quietly, before the battle happened. Republic Clone Commandos field as a compact four-model squad for the Galactic Republic, filling a Support slot rather than standing in the line of battle.

Four models is the entire design philosophy. This is a unit that trades bodies for quality, so every activation has to earn its place: pick a target, get there, remove it. What it cannot do is soak fire on your behalf or hold an objective against a full Corps unit, and asking it to try wastes an expensive squad. Commandos are for the job your clone troopers cannot do, not for the job they are already doing perfectly well.

Two unit cards give you a choice in how the squad deploys, and two upgrade cards let you angle them toward armor or infantry.

Fits a Clone Wars list built on:

  • Clone Troopers Infantry or Clone Trooper Marksmen as the line they operate ahead of
  • Clone Commander Cody or Heroes of the Clone Army for command
  • ARF Troopers if you want a fast, specialist-heavy Republic army

Four miniatures and bases, two unit cards, two upgrade cards, a punch sheet and an insert. Katarn armor is a joy to paint, and four models means you can take real time over each one. Best for a player who already has a functioning Republic list to slot them into.
