Guardian is the keyword justifying these droids, and it is why they belong beside a commander instead of off on a flank somewhere. They intercept attacks aimed at the leader they are protecting, which turns an expensive character from a target into a problem.

Immune: Melee Pierce is the other half of the design. Lightsabers lean on Pierce to cut through defense, and these electrostaffs were built specifically to blunt them, so a Jedi charging your commander runs straight into the wrong bodyguard. Charge lets them shoot and then fight, while Unhindered keeps terrain from slowing the escort.

AI: Dodge, Move is the droid tax, though for a bodyguard unit dodging beside your commander is usually the right move regardless. General Grievous carries an Entourage tie to them, and Count Dooku is the other obvious leader worth guarding.
