The twenty-four battle cards are the part newcomers overlook entirely. They define objectives, deployment and conditions, and without them there is no scoring structure to play toward at all. The dice cover red, black and white attack alongside red and white defense, enough for two people to sit down opposite one another straight away.

Five unit cards keep the opening choices manageable, while fifteen upgrade cards and ten command cards leave genuine room to build. That balance matters while you are learning: too many options make a first game crawl, and a starter offering none makes the second game dull.
