The twenty-four battle cards matter more than new players expect. They are the objective, deployment and condition decks that decide what a game is actually about, and without them you are pushing miniatures around with no way to win. The dice spread covers red, black and white attack dice alongside red and white defense, so two people can play straight away without pooling collections.

Darth Vader leads. On his Commander card he rolls six red dice in melee with Impact 3 and Pierce 3, which is a memorable introduction to how threat ranges work. Stormtroopers give a new player a Corps unit with Precise 1 that teaches aim tokens properly, and TIE fighter pilots round out a genuine force rather than a demo.
