Cheap to build, hard to shift. The DSD1 Dwarf Spider Droid earned its place in Separatist armies through sheer practicality, and it fills the Support slot on a Legion battlefield with the same unfussy competence.

What it gives a droid list is a mid-weight gun without a full Heavy commitment. Place it where it covers a lane or an objective and it simply keeps working: less dramatic than a battle tank, and considerably harder for an opponent to justify spending a whole turn removing. That is also the limit of it. One model means one activation and no ability to be in two places, so position it for the game you expect rather than shuffling it around once shooting starts.

Six upgrade cards is generous for a single-model kit and gives you real say in what it ends up doing on the table.

Works well with:

  • B1 Battle Droids advancing under its covering fire
  • An AAT Battle Tank as a second, larger threat your opponent has to answer
  • Droidekas punishing whatever comes to deal with the spider droid
