The Separatist war machine does not run on courage. It runs on calculation, and a Super Tactical Droid is where that calculation happens. This expansion builds two of them, each able to take the field as a Commander or an Operative in a Separatist Alliance army.

Thirteen upgrade cards is an unusually deep pool for a character box, and it is the reason to pick this over a fixed named commander. You are not buying one leader with one style. You are buying a chassis to rebuild between games: a cautious coordinator behind the droid line one week, a forward operative the next. If list building is part of the fun for you, this rewards it. If you would rather learn one commander thoroughly, a named character is the gentler starting point.
