Advanced Recon Force troopers handle the work the rest of the Grand Army cannot: scouting ahead, seizing ground before the main line arrives, and making sure nothing surprises the clones behind them. As a Special Forces unit for the Galactic Republic, an eight-model ARF squad rewards players who like to control where a game happens rather than simply shooting across the middle of it.

Use them to threaten flanks and objectives your opponent had written off as safe. The weakness is the mirror of that strength: a squad built for positioning is not built to win a stand-up firefight with something heavier, so parking them in the open and trading shots wastes what you paid for. Move, take the ground, make the other player come to you.

Where it fits: any Clone Wars era Republic list. Pair with

The box carries eight miniatures and bases, a unit card, five upgrade cards, a punch sheet and an insert, including a Jedi Knight attachment that can take over as the squad leader for Clone Trooper units. The sculpts hold plenty of detail for painters. Best suited to a player with a game or two behind them who wants a list that does more than form a firing line.
