Buy two. That is the practical advice, because the Mark IV carries a Power Matrix rule that allows a roster to include two of them rather than the single copy most characters are limited to, and a Sentinels list that fields one robot rather than a pair is giving up the affiliation's whole identity.

What these machines do is straightforward, which is a virtue when you are learning: they are tough, they hit hard at short range with plasma and electricity, and they drag targets around with catch-web cables. There is no clever engine to assemble. You advance, you apply pressure, and your opponent has to deal with a large durable model that does not go away quickly.

The cost is speed and subtlety. Sentinels are not fast, they do not reposition well once committed, and a squad that can kite them will win a crisis while the robots walk. That makes them a poor pick for a player who likes finesse and a strong pick for anyone who wants their turn to be about a decision rather than a sequence.
