Start here if machines are the plan. The box collects Sentinel Prime MK4 for the leadership, Mark IV bodies to do the grinding, and Cassandra Nova, and buying the three separately costs more and takes longer than picking them up together.

What the affiliation does is apply pressure that does not stop. The robots are slow, tough and simple to pilot, they punish an opponent who stands and trades, and there is no card sequence to assemble before they work. Cassandra Nova is the exception and the reason the list is not one-dimensional: a psychic mind at the back of a line of machines gives the squad an answer to problems the robots cannot walk into.

The weakness is mobility. Sentinels commit slowly and reposition badly, so a fast squad that refuses the fight and scores elsewhere will beat them, and a crisis that scatters objectives across the table is the matchup to fear.

Six Team Tactic Cards come with the miniatures. It suits a player who wants to make one decision per turn and see it through, and it is the wrong faction entirely for anyone who enjoys reacting, feinting and rearranging a squad mid-game.
