Moonstone: Angerboda, Frost Giant

Angerboda is one of the few models in Moonstone that two entirely different armies can argue over. Legal in both Commonwealth and Shades of Moonreach troupes, with Risen, Soldier, Giant and Norse on the card: a Norse warrior who did not stay dead.

This is a Monster Box, which in the Moonstone range means one large multipart resin miniature and its stat card rather than a three-model set. A standard troupe is four characters, so a giant is a quarter of your force. You are trading bodies for bulk, and that is a real decision rather than a free upgrade.

For a Commonwealth player, Angerboda is the obvious fourth behind a gnome trio, and the Norse keyword ties the model neatly to Rune Fated (Liv, Bjorn and Olim) and Outlanders (Joanna and Loci). For a Shades player, the pairing is Never Ending Knights, whose Greymair, Negroli and Serif share the soldierly streak.

One thing to check before buying: Angerboda is also one of the four Shades models in the Life & Death Struggle Two Player Starter Set, so starter set owners already have this character.

A rewarding paint. Large armour panels and plenty of surface make it a natural candidate for frost and snow effects. Supplied unpainted and unassembled.
