Warcrow: Waljan, the Last of the First

Waljan is built on a contradiction, and whether you want him depends entirely on how you feel about that.

Offensively he is extremely difficult to stop. Defensively he is not: morale low enough to count as a structural weakness rather than a rounding error, which is unusual in a dwarf army that normally gives up speed in exchange for staying power. An aggressive resurrection mechanic sits on his profile as well, in a faction with no other route to one.

Together those things make him the model that lets a Mounthaven force stop waiting. The faction's default answer to pressure is to absorb it and win late. Waljan is a way to apply pressure yourself, at the cost of fielding something that can break in a way nothing else in your army does. Players who have found their dwarves too reactive tend to arrive here for exactly that reason.
