Warcrow: Mounthaven Officers

Command backbone, sold as a pair. One Anvil and one Mounthaven Veteran, and between them they give a dwarf army the leadership its infantry has been waiting for.

The Anvil is what the name promises: a defensive anchor, the granite the waves break against, and a model you build a position around rather than one you move. The Veteran does the other half, bringing the experience that makes the models near it work harder than they otherwise would. Neither is a solution on their own. Together they turn a collection of dwarf blocks into something with a shape.

This is usually a second purchase rather than a first, and that is the honest way to sell it. You want the infantry before you want the officers who improve it. But it is also the box that tends to fix the complaint newer Mounthaven players have, which is that their army feels sturdy and inert at the same time.
