Warcrow: Dice Set

Eighteen dice, and the point of them is that you stop translating. These carry the symbols and colours the system uses, so an attack, a defence or an effect roll reads at a glance instead of being counted up and converted in your head.

That sounds small until you have played a few games. Anything that removes a mental step between rolling and knowing keeps a turn moving, and a turn that moves is a game that finishes. Players coming from pip based systems tend to underestimate this and then buy a set anyway after a couple of evenings.

The second reason is simpler arithmetic: two sets on the table means two players rolling at once rather than passing a shared handful back and forth. If you have someone you play regularly, the second set pays for itself in time saved.
