One of the most direct squads in the game. Jedi Master Mace Windu is the Primary unit and among the strongest Force users the Galactic Republic can field, a duellist whose answer to most problems is to walk up and use it. CT-411 Commander Ponds is the Secondary, a Clone Commando who keeps the squad organised, and two ARF Clone Troopers make up the Support unit.

What you get is a Clone Wars squad with a clear plan: Windu goes and wins a fight in the middle of the board while the clones take and hold what he leaves behind. That clarity is why it is a good learning squad. There is no elaborate combination to master and no unit whose job is hard to explain.

The limitation is the flip side of the same thing. Your squad is heavily invested in one character, and an opponent who can pin Windu down or force him to the wrong side of the board leaves the clones outmatched. Learn to pick which fight he takes.

Complete and legal on its own, so it stands as a first purchase. Republic players should look at Wisdom of the Council Squad Pack and Requesting Your Surrender Squad Pack, and Twice the Pride - Count Dooku Squad Pack makes the obvious opponent.
