The Republic answered Separatist armor with speed rather than mass. The TX-130 Saber-class fighter tank is a light repulsor tank that handles more like a starfighter, and it gives a Galactic Republic army a Heavy option that refuses to sit still.

That mobility is the whole argument for taking it. A slow tank commits to one part of the board the moment it deploys. The TX-130 can reposition, threaten a flank that looked safe an hour ago, and arrive at whichever objective has suddenly started to matter, which is worth more in an objective-driven game than raw armor plating. Its beam cannon and twin laser cannons let you aim it at formations or at armor depending on how you build it, and five upgrade cards give you real say in that.

The trade-off is honest: light means light. Caught in the open by a dedicated anti-armor unit, it will not survive on toughness alone. Keep it moving, and keep it choosing its own fights.

It slots into a Clone Wars list with:

  • Clone Troopers Infantry or Clone Trooper Marksmen holding the center
  • A Jedi commander or Clone Commander Cody pulling attention elsewhere
  • ARF Troopers or a BARC Speeder if you want a genuinely fast Republic army
