Behind every Separatist advance stands a cold, calculating mind. This box brings two Super Tactical Droids to a Separatist Alliance army as commander options, and unlike the customizable kit these arrive as defined characters: assemble them, read the two unit cards, play.

That is genuinely the appeal for a lot of players. A pile of optional upgrade cards is exciting for some people and paralyzing for others, and if you would rather learn one commander properly than endlessly optimize a build, a fixed character is the better teacher. Super Tactical Droids reward planning. They exist to make a large droid force operate efficiently, which suits a player who thinks a turn ahead rather than one who wants to charge something.

Three command cards come with them, and the hard plastic miniatures ship with cards in the current multilingual format, so nothing here needs updating later.

Command a force of:

  • B1 Battle Droids in numbers, which is exactly what these commanders are for
  • B2 Super Battle Droids or BX-Series Droid Commandos as the striking element
  • An AAT Battle Tank or DSD1 Dwarf Spider Droid for ranged weight

Two miniatures and bases, two unit cards, three command cards, a punch sheet and an insert. Tall, angular sculpts that look properly menacing at the head of a droid line, and large flat panels make for a straightforward paint job.
