Dauntless and Independent are the two words that matter here, and together they describe a unit that does not need your attention. Dauntless keeps them acting when suppression would pin an ordinary squad, and Independent: Aim 1 hands them an aim token on the rounds they go unordered.

That pairing is worth more than it first appears. Every order you do not spend on the Enforcers is an order going to a commander, a heavy or an operative that genuinely needs one, so they quietly raise the efficiency of the entire list. Precise 1 makes those self-generated aims land harder, and red defense dice keep them on the table longer than most hired guns manage. Their double blaster works at range 1 to 2, so they want to fight closer than a standard rifle squad.

They hire out to the Empire and the Separatist Alliance only, which is narrower than many mercenary units and worth checking against your faction first.
