Red is the loud one, and on a shelf that turns out to be useful. The Sidekick Pro 100+ XL Convertible in red is Gamegenic's Commander-focused premium box, and the red shell belongs to a five-colour set that maps onto Magic: The Gathering's identities, so a red deck lives in a red box and you stop reading labels.

Underneath the colour it is a genuinely well-specified case. It holds 100 double-sleeved cards in extra thick inner sleeves, or 100 regular double-sleeved cards with space left for token cards. The outer is Armorfyber over a soft microfiber lining, and the closure is magnetic rather than a friction lid, so it does not gape open in a bag. Dimensions are 4.09 x 4.33 x 4.02 in.

Two features do the real work. The Slide Card Case mounts on the outside with UV protection, so the commander stays visible and readable while the box is closed, and it detaches so that card can be played. The integrated drawer takes tokens, counters and small dice, meaning one object goes into the bag instead of three.

The convertible cover comes off completely and clips to the base, which matters at a packed four-player table. You receive one magnetic deck box, one token drawer and one UV-protected Slide Card Case. Overkill for a single starter deck, exactly right for a list you have spent a year tuning.
