Three ghosts with a sense of humour. Jerry Heir, Abra Cadaverous and Roary, all Spirits, all Shades of Moonreach, each a fine quality resin miniature with base and stat card.

Shades is the faction that arrived last and reads least like the others. Where the Commonwealth fields soldiers and the Dominion fields tricksters, a Shades troupe is built out of things that are already dead and have stopped worrying about it. Freaky Fugday is the purest version of that in a single box: no Risen knights, no summoned psychopomps, just three spirits.

You need a fourth character. The options in this range are Echo of the Forgotten King, Angerboda (Risen, Soldier, Giant and Norse, and legal for the Commonwealth too) or Barnakelle, the Troll, Spirit and Pirate who also plays for the Dominion. If you would rather double down on spirits, The Shady Bunch gives you Sen'Ara, Morag and Marley.

A good box for an established player who already owns some Shades and wants variety, and an unusual but workable first Shades purchase if the aesthetic is what drew you in. Add Charge of the Fright Brigade once you know how you like to play them.
