Moonstone: Dusk till Dawn: Two Player Starter Set

Start here. This is the box that turns hearing Moonstone is good into two people playing it on a kitchen table the same evening.

You get two complete four-character troupes. Four Commonwealth humans: Baron von Fancyhat, Eric the Squire, Flintlock and Friar Flavious, exclusive to this set. Four Dominion goblins: Doug the Flatulent, Beaky Bobby, Vicious Syd and Grub, also exclusive. All eight are fine quality resin with bases and stat cards. Alongside them: the Moonstone Card Deck (18 Melee Cards, 21 Arcane Cards and 2 quick reference cards), a rules pamphlet, 49 blue energy counters, the Moonstone measuring widget, seven four-sided dice and two six-sided dice.

Note what that contents list tells you. Thirty-nine cards and nine dice. Fights here are decided by what you commit and what you persuade your opponent you are holding, not by rolling well. Moonstone took both Best Miniatures Range and Best Miniatures Rules at UK Games Expo 2023 largely on the strength of that.

Who does not need this? Anyone who already owns a starter set, and anyone whose regular opponent does, since the rules, deck, widget and counters only need to exist once per table. Everyone else should start here rather than with a troupe box.
