Marvel Crisis Protocol: Web-Swinging Heroes

Movement is the whole identity of the Web Warriors, and this box is where that identity starts. Spider-Man, Spider-Woman, Black Cat and Agent Venom cover four different approaches to the same idea: get somewhere your opponent did not account for, do something inconvenient, and be gone before the counter-punch lands.

That plays well into crises where scoring is spread out, because a mobile squad can take a point on one flank and still contest the middle. It plays badly into a straight fight. None of these four wants to stand toe to toe with a heavyweight, so a game that collapses into a single scrum in the centre of the table is a game a Web Warriors player has already partly lost. The correct instinct is to keep moving even when it feels like you are giving ground.

Seven Team Tactic Cards come with the four miniatures, which is generous, and most of that support is affiliation-wide rather than character-specific. It suits a player who enjoys positioning puzzles and reacting to what the other squad does. It suits nobody who wants to point at a model and remove it. Gwenom & Scarlet Spider is the sensible next box, adding two more bodies to a roster that always wants more of them.
