Sarcophagus first, scenario second, and it is worth deciding which of those you are actually buying. The centrepiece is a looming burial chamber flanked by two towering statues, easily the most dominant thing on a table it is placed on, and it gives an Apocalypse-themed board the focal point that scatter terrain cannot.

The other half is a complete Ultimate Encounter: special rules, stat cards and the components needed to sit down and play it without any further purchase. Encounters are asymmetric set-piece games rather than standard crises, which makes this a change of pace for a group rather than an upgrade to a competitive list. Nothing in the box improves a matched-play roster.

It sits alongside the Shrine to En Sabah Nur Terrain Pack and the Dark Future Terrain Pack, and the three together make a board that clearly belongs to one story rather than to a generic city.

Skip it if your group plays the same competitive crises every week, because the encounter will be played once and the terrain is too thematic for a neutral board. Take it if your table wants an evening built around a single memorable game, or if you want a serious painting project with real scale to it.
