There are two reasons to own this and only two. The first is that your tools came out of an older box and no longer match the ones your opponents are using: these are built to the current specification, the same as the tools in the revised core set, so distances measured with them agree with everyone else's. The second is that you want a set of your own so two people can measure at once instead of sharing.

If neither of those applies, buy a character pack instead. This adds no models, cards or roster options, and a set of tools that already matches the current spec will not measure any differently for being newer.

Four range tools and three movement tools is a full set for one player. Where it genuinely earns the shelf space is in a household or club that teaches the game, because a spare set is the difference between one table running and two, and newcomers should not be learning distances with tools that disagree by a hair with the ones on the next table.

Worth knowing before you order: this is the direct replacement for the older CP03 tools rather than an addition to them, so it is an upgrade for an existing collection, not an expansion of it.
