Ten more dice sounds like an afterthought until the first time you have to roll a large attack in two halves because there are not enough on the table. This game asks you to roll a handful at once, and both players need their own supply, so a core set's dice run short quickly once two people are playing properly.

Beyond the count, there is a small but real benefit to owning dice that match the game exactly. The symbols on these faces are the ones the rules refer to, so nothing has to be converted or remembered, and a newcomer learning what a wild or a critical looks like should not be reading a substitute die.

It is the least exciting purchase in the range, and that is fine. It suits the player who hosts games, teaches the rules, or has started running larger squads where big attack pools come up regularly.

Skip it if you already have plenty and your regular opponent brings their own, because dice do not improve a roster. If you are choosing between this and a character pack for a collection that is still small, buy the characters.
