Bolting armour plate onto a mining rig does not make it elegant. It makes it cheap, heavy and available, which is the whole argument for the Triphammer. These are industrial walkers pressed into military service, and they show up wherever somebody needed TAG weight in a hurry and could not afford the real thing.

On the table they sit with the mercenary pool rather than one national army. Triphammers are legal for NA2 lists and for the Haqqislamite sectorials that hire outside help, so a single blister earns its place across several collections instead of being locked to one.

  • Role: heavy armoured support that does not eat the points budget a premium TAG would.
  • Who it suits: a player who already has a list and wants armour in it, rather than somebody starting a force from scratch.

Mercenary units reward players who understand how Infinity's fireteam and order economy works, so this is an expansion for an existing army rather than a first purchase. New to the game entirely?
