Ebony Maw, Black Dwarf, Proxima Midnight and Corvus Glaive arrive as one block, and gem cards for Space, Time, Mind and Reality come with them. Those gems are the quiet reason the box is worth more than four miniatures suggest, because gem cards are shared game content rather than something locked to these four characters.

As a squad they cover distinct jobs. Black Dwarf is the wall, Proxima Midnight and Corvus Glaive are the ones you send at a target, and Ebony Maw is the manipulator who leaves the other three better placed than they earned. That spread is the real pitch: instead of four takes on the same idea, you get most of the roles a squad needs from a single purchase, with redrawn stat cards and the Team Tactic Cards from the characters' first releases.

The catch for a newer player is that the Black Order asks a lot. Its characters are individually strong, but the list wants a clear plan and does not forgive being spread thin across a wide crisis. If you want a villain faction that simply works while you are still learning, the Cabal Affiliation Pack is the gentler door in. Take this one if you already know you want Thanos' inner circle on the table, or if the gem cards are what you are really after for a cosmic collection.
